Windows 10 LibreOffice 6.2 (latest) Crashes Most often Draw

Windows 10 LibreOffice 6.1 (latest) Crashes Most often Draw. Why is this the case? I see countless issues with LibreOffice freezes or crashing and no one seems to find an answer? Well, it happened to me 3 times in a row now. What quality control you must have! No other application I have does this… completely random freeze hang crash. Never had this issue with 5.0 only with 6.0 and later. So does any one have any suggestions? Is there a way to run LibreOffice in debug mode or something?

I would try to reset the user profile. See “LibreOffice user profile”.

Reset the profile, no joy. Upgraded to 6.2, no joy. Unfortunately, the random crashing continues. In a 3 hour working session yesterday, two random crashes. Since I have full control of the environment, I can monitor the entire system, and there appears to be no other issues with OS or hardware that might suggest what the cause of the freeze or crash is. Fortunately, both times the freeze or crash happened I was able to recover the work… but several times the recovery process has failed to allow file recover. Not sure if this suggests that part of the issue maybe related to the auto save feature? A debug enabled variant of LibreOffice i would think is a reasonable expectation at this point, no? There are users of the software that have technical skills and could help find nasty issues like this one.

@Schorschi here at ask.Libreoffice help user other users. I’m glad you’re a power user. My suggestion was unfortunately only a shot in the blue. I would not exclude hardware errors from the outset. For example, a memory database covering the upper range could be flawed so that an error occurs only when more memory is needed. Or it could be a temperature problem? Maybe someone else can help you here.

PS: To be on the safe side I would personally clean the PC and check all connections. Please use with caution for static charge.

Right, I seriously doubt this is a hardware issue, the system in question is 4 years old, rock solid, not overclocked or customized, but was custom built. I mirror it to a VMware VM on a separate ESXi server when needed as well, when I suspect something is odd, both the VM mirror and the physical system have exhibited this issue. Reading the history of freezes and crashes, it appears that LibreOffice is plagued by this issue for many users across several versions of the product. But I don’t see a lot of serious diagnostic results, maybe it has been done, but just not published? I am 30+ year experience in IT, diagnostics, software development, etc. So I know how to issue isolate. Thanks for the link, will review. Really want to find root cause of this.
