Problem with automatic formula adjustment

Hi,
This feels like a really obvious question, but I’ve not been able to find an answer when looking through the wiki and this questions site.

I want to calculate the total cost of labour on items I produce by multiplying the time taken by the wage I pay. To do this, I have one file with the hourly wage in A2. I want to multiply this by the hours of labour on each item for each of my 1000+ lines so I can view the changes in profit if I change the hourly wage. However, each time I try to copy the formula into all the cells, it automatically adjusts to A3, A4 etc and I can’t find a way of preventing this from happening.

If I understand the issue correctly, you just need to use ‘$’ for constants in your cell formulas so Calc understands not to adjust those references. You can use find/replace to add this if needed. Reference this older OOo forum post that describes the issue and solution.
