I have a .csv file I want to open in Calc. Problem: it opens in Writer. AAAAAAHHHHHHH !!!
How do I open it in Calc?

Open the Calc component of LO. It will display a blank (new) document. Use menu File → Open. Navigate to your csv file and highlight it. Click Open.
There are several ways but I believe that this is the simplest.
