Updated Libre Office now all my documents have gone.

When I opened Libre Office I could not open any of my documents in there, I had no access to any of them. I then realised that there was an update for Libre Office waiting to be installed so thought that is what it needed. After the update all my documents have disappeared and I am afraid I have not got a copy of them. Is there any way to retrieve them at all ?

I’m pretty sure that your documents aren’t gone. The list of documents in the right pane of LibreOffice appearing when you have started the application is only a Recent Document list, which shows you, which documents you have been working on recently. In fact these are only pointers to the real location of your files and for your convenience. Therefore you need to use File -> Open ... or CTRL-O and select the file from the file picker.
In addition you may use your file manager (i.e. Windows Explorer, if you are using Windows) and perform search for your files, if you do not remember where you originally stored the files.
