Document does not exist ?

I have retrieved my documents but when I try to open them it says ‘document does not exist’ I know it does because it is in front of my eyes but will not open, can anyone help in any way ?

Rename the documents
Note: don’t use special characters comma or space

Do the same to the folder names

If the document was “in front of your eyes” as a thumbnail icon in the stardesktop panel (after calling LibO without a file) or as an entry of the PickList, the file can well be moved to a different folder, deleted, or renamed. If this happened using a file manager or different software LibO will not know about, and will correctly tell you that the file you tried to open does not exist.

If your case is different, please explain to more detail.

I have 20 files on my Libre Office and the first four from top left to right will open, the other 16 says file does not exist. I have never ever had a problem opening any of them before and I cannot understand what is happening ?

Only you (or someone at your computer) can read the filepaths shown when hovering over the thumbnails, and then go to the respective folders to make sure if the files are there. If a file is missing, you (or your helper) can search it by system means.
If a file actually has disappeared I am still sure that not LibO deleted it.
Did you rename any folder?

If installed via snap, You cannot open files from /tmp

Libreoffice is running in some kind of container, and sees another root dir than You do with Your file browser

in Calc : I tried to save a text but couldn’t , then after the program crashed, and I recovered it , a message said that that specific" file does not exist " ( actually I had to downloads a new version which I couldn’t because of error 1310, until I tried everything in the book, but it seems that Windows directory repair did the trick) !) , .
I have however found it in libreoffice back up !!!
I went to "This pc, " . in “C” I wrote in the search box above : "C:\Users(insert USER’S NAME) \AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\backup "
Sure enough, here were different back ups of my file ! but only 2 had any kb in them , I opened the one with most KBs, and saved it at its proper place in my documents and rename it as it was .
I hope this might help some one with the same problem.

Not likely, as you have hidden your info by appending to another topic (wich is 4 years old itself)
