Files copying when highlighted and then can't delete

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what happened here and how to fix:

I was higlighting several files to move into a new folder and they automatically started copying themselves. This happened three times. Now when I go to delte the copies, I’m getting an error message saying the file does not exist in that directory/subdirectory - BUT IT DOES. Now I have tripled the numbers of files in the directory and I can;t delete them either! HELP !!!

I think this is not the right place to ask, better find a support service or a forum for your operating system.
