How to save a pdf in grayscale or black and white?

Is there a way to open a pdf document in LibreOffice, but save (or export) it as black and white or grayscale instead of the original color version?

Seen from LO, a PDF file is a Draw document. Your possibilities are thus limited to Draw’s.

I’d suggest using apps capable of handling and editing PDF. As a last resort, try GIMP which can export in a wide variety of formats with a lot of customisable parameters.

If the idea is to hand over B/W copies of the PDF document, many printer drivers have the possibility to restrict printing to B/W or grayscale (even to 8 bits). I have not tried it, but maybe you can print into a file with the mentioned restrictions and get what you expect.

I used FinePrint which has an option to print in grayscale and then I printed the document using Microsoft’s Print to PDF feature.
