How does one maintain referenced cell coloring during formula editing?

Upon entering edit mode in a cell containing a formula which references other cells, those cells referenced in the formula show on-screen in different colors (having checked “Show references in color” at Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > View). But, as soon as I start to edit that formula, those colored borders around the referenced cells immediately disappear.

Is that the way Calc is supposed to operate? Or am I missing some other required setting? Or is this a bug?

I’m new to LibreOffice. So I don’t know what the correct answer might be.

In Excel, that coloring of the referenced cells remains throughout the entire editing of the formula. Would be nice if Calc did the same.

(Calc 6.2.4.2 on Windows 7)

There is a bug opened EDITING : Calc doesn’t show colored borders on referenced cells when editing formula, you can add your comment there.
