How to add a footer on first page only

As title! 2 page doc, want footnote on first page only. Tried inserting a page break, didn’t work. Still got footnote on second page…

Footnote?

Changed “footnote” to “footer” in question title and retagged

If you meant “footer”, not “footnote”, then this FAQ is just for you.

Thanks for that - I’ve now got the Footer text on the first page only - is there a way of removing the space the (blank) footer takes up on the second page?

If you simply unchecked the “Same content on the first page” checkbox, then no way. To do what you want, follow the “older” way in the FAQ.

OK thanks.

A footnote is flushed on next page when the footnote anchor is on the last line (or so) in the page and there is not enough space remaining in the printable area to hold the footnote separator and the footnote paragraph.

Without much information, it is very difficult to tell what you’re doing wrong. So, edit your question (don’t use an answer which is reserved for solutions – this site is not a forum but a Q&A one, and “answers” are not sorted in chronological order but by relevance thus doesn’t constitute a thread) to provide more details and/or attach the document to your question.

Sorry, got my footnotes and footers mixed up! Should have read “Footer”!
