There needs to be an easier way to add page numbers at the bottom of the page, should be a one click effort. What is the best way to add page numbers to the bottom, center of the page?

One way:

Insert | Header & Footer | Footer | Default Style Centre horizontally - Ctrl+E or use the icon on the format bar Insert | Field | Page Number

Instead of direct formatting, though, it's better to modify the Footer (or Header) paragraph style.

Indeed; I guess I was trying not to complicate the process too much for the OQ who seems to prefer simple.

Hi

LibreOffice is designed around the use of styles. It is possible to:

  • create a page style with footer enabled
  • define the Footer paragraph style as centered
  • apply this style to a page
  • insert the field in the footer
  • save this document as a template

Then just create a document from this template to have nothing else to do but apply the style (two clicks).

In this example, apply the Numbered page style.

Regards
