Ta for reply. My pc is relatively new and I am only using Windows Defender. Libre Office has saved to a folder ok previously.

This is a bit confusing. "No items match your search" and "No file found" are typical responses when looking for a named document, not when trying to save one.

If you use "Save as..." instead of Save, is the name of the target location at the top of the dialog box actually the location that you want to use? (In my limited experience, the initial location for Save As is the default that would have been used for Save.)

Heh. Well, I don't think OP has cared to read the link I posted carefully, which explicitly mentioned a feature of Windows Defender that is known to interfere with LibreOffice, and the symptoms include the "File not found" message. And most likely not cared enough to try and test if disabling antivirus helps, to have definite answer like "no, that doesn't work", instead of some general thoughts.

Yeah. That this lack of response happens at all is "too often". It can be discouraging.

Not sure who or what is OP but even after searching FAQ's this is first I have heared about Windows Defender stopping Libre to Save As. I have stopped Defender from running but Save As still will not save to a folder, only to a memory stick. Also, when saving a new document I have always used Save As to a specific folder but now cannot Save AS to the folder. Yes the specific folder is in the address box. My Windows allowed Libre Office to install and run. If it is Defender causing the problem has anyone solved it. Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Hereis the answer - Defender has a Controlled Folder Access. Go to Window Settings > Virus and Threat Protection > Controlled Folder Access > Manage > On or Off. When OFF LibreOffice Save As works as normal. Thanks for an edifying experience as a first time AskLibo user.

Don't use 'anser' if it's not an answer. Edit original question instead or comment.

OP is meant to be you. The Original poster.

The community will need more details about your problem if it's really not what Mike pointed to. Such input like if it's only with LO, which version of windows since 'Defender' or 'new PC' is not sufficient to determine that. And likely other infos.
