i was working on a writer document and ended up with a document that now reads libre office draw. i have no idea how i ended up there and more importantly, how to return to the document that i was working on.

this new doc is nothing like what i was working on and i need to go back to where i was.

Did you happen to save your document as a PDF?

Please use a short descriptive title and put your description into the details. Thanks in advance …

Have you tried starting the Writer component of LibreOffice, then using menu File → Open and navigating to your document’s file name, select it, then click on Open?

I had made corrections to the document and was trying to print out copies when it called for me to print as a PDF and that is when everything went bad.

I give up!

That’s the spirit! And technology wins again!

There are several different ways to open or access your documents. You seem to know only one way. Have you tried any of the others yet??

You probably, somehow, saved your document as a .pdf and that is now the only one that shows up in your Recent Files list (and that now opens only in LO Draw). But if you use your OS’s file manager and navigate to where you store your documents, you will probably find two versions – documentwhatever.pdf and documentwhatever.odt. Double click on the .odt version to open it. Or you could use LO Writer’s menu File → Open and navigate in the same way to open the last saved .odt version of your document. No guarantees, of course, but probably.
