Writer: Adjust size of table columns so they are the same size?

In Writer, what’s the best way to Adjust the size of table columns so they are the same size?

You can go to Table properties. On the columns tab, it has a field for every column on the table. You can then insert a percentage value.

However, my table has many columns. Entering all these fields and working out the percentages would take forever.
Is there a smarter way to make the table columns so they are the same size in one go.

Many other software allow you to set a fixed value (e.g. 2cm) for all columns.

Thanks!

Select table; menu TableSizeDistribute Columns Evenly?

By the way, the size is only in percents when you have selected [x] Relative next to Width on Table tab.

Hello,

the title of your question is "Adjust size of table columns so they are the same size? - To answer this you see on your screenshot that there is an option “Adjust columns proportionally”, but it is greyed out. So the question reduces to "How to make available the option "“Adjust columns proportionallly”? To do so within the same dialog go to tab Table -> Category: Alignment and change it to some other value than “Automatic”. Then you have all options avalaible to adapt the table to fit your requirements without the need (but possibility) to change each column.

Select (highlight) the columns you wish to have the same size (they must be adjacent to each other).

Right click; on the displayed menu select ‘size’.

On the displayed menu, select ‘Distribute columns evenly’.

Found this by stumbling around…
