I have put 6 similar images in a table. In one row, the images are centered horizontally while in the other row, they are not. I want them all centered horizontally.
What are the settings that determine the horizontal alignment of an image in a table?
How are the images pinned? Standard is that an inserted image is tied to the paragraph and the position is horizontal middle. You could pin the images as character. Right-click on the image, choose anchoring (don’t have the exact naming, because my GUI is not EN) and select as character. For each image. Than you can center the paragraphs in the table. By instant formating or better by defining a paragraph style for the table. Each image is treated as character and centered visually if alone in the line.
You have asked a lot of interesting questions and seem to have quite some experience with LO. To center images horizontally in a table is not such a complicated thing. Maybe I don’t get your point and a little more information would help to clarify.
Thank you for your help and ideas. I should have mentioned the anchoring. When I inserted the images, I anchored them as character. The problem is that there is no option to align them horizontally (when they are anchored as character–at least that I can find).
While they are all anchored as character, the images on the top row are centered and the images on the bottom are not. I can’t figure out why the images on top behave differently from those on the bottom.
When I change the anchoring to paragraph for the images on the bottom, they become centered. But when I anchor them as character again, they revert to left justification.
I am thinking that it is safer to anchor them as character in a table but perhaps I am wrong.
While I have some familiarity with LO, I haven’t dealt much with graphics, other than charts.

When anchored As character, positioning is controlled by paragraph style justification. When To paragraph, position is set in Type tab, Position section of frame/picture dialog.
