Does LO use the associated .STY files when importing Word 6.0 for DOS files?

Trying to import old (Word 6.0 for DOS) files to convert them to a current file format. LO converts the text but the style sheets do not seem to be used. Any help?

Since you have closed your question as “duplicate”, please mention the other question here for the record. Thanks!

I didn’t mean to close the question. I have no answer. I have tried to reopen it but I am new to askLO. I tried to add a tag. When I saved it, I was told it was a duplicate, so I cancelled the change, but the main question became closed.

I’ve reopened the question for you.

No answer to “Does LO use the associated .STY files”; but if you see that something is missing at import, you are always welcome to file a bug report, and provide samples there; it’s quite possible that that variant was overlooked/samples were unavailable when that proprietary and closed format was reverse-engineered (note that it isn’t open even today, when MS has opened its later DOC format (google for [MS-DOC]) used in Word 97 and later).

Try to reformat your document.
Use styles for formatting.
How styles are applied, you can read here.

You can watch a video with a slightly older LO version here.

Before you start with the styles, you should delete the direct formatting of your text.
Mark the complete text.
From the menu, choose Format>Clear Direct Formatting....

Save the document as an ODT file.

Otherwise, you can also look at the documentation.

I wish you success
