Running version 6.3.0.4 on Mac (Mojave)
When I open a .csv with Calc, I get an import dialog. What I need to do then is click the top left corner where it shows the data, and change the Column type dropdown to Text. Is there some way to make it default to importing all columns as type Text instead of type Standard?
The problem I’m trying to solve is that Calc truncates leading zeros if I leave a column set to Standard. It’s faster to just set everything to Text than scroll through and pick individual columns. I can always change a Text column to Number later without data loss, but if Calc makes a column a number, the leading zeros are gone forever. So Text seems the most sensible default, in my use case.
