Select text transparency broken after ugrading to Version: 4.1.0.4

Hi, Before i upgraded, I was able to set transparency for text selection in writer. Now its greyed out and wont allow me to set transparency. My text selection is just black. And I have tried changing system text selection and Libre office refuses to acknowledge any changes. It still stays black with no way to set transparency.

Waht is to be done?

Please indicate how you have been setting the transparency for text.

Tools>Options>View>Selection and underneath Transparency which is greyed out

That is odd. Can you not click on the check box beside the set value? Can you attach a screenshot?
