copy an Impress frame, then paste into a different Impress file

When I want a frame in Impress composed from multiple image inserts and/or text boxes to be used in a second Impress presentation, it would be convenient to construct this frame separately from the much larger Impress file. However, it seems not possible to copy, then paste from Impress into Impress. If I am on the single frame, select all, the series of blue dots appears around the entire frame, as expected, then click on copy. However, moving to the other, bigger Impress file, highlighting a new, and empty slide, the “PASTE” item in the dropdown is not active. Is there a method for copying a single frame from Impress and then pasting it into a different impress file?

Have you tried copying the whole slide?

From the left hand display of slides select the one you want and then ctrl-c.

Go to the new presentation and position where you want the new slide and ctrl=v

Works for me.

Also worked for me! Thanks for the answer. Don’t know why I didn’t try that before, except I was working in normal view, which is where insert works. Notakwanon
