How do I switch from Portrait mode to landscape mode? I can’t find a button for the switch.

Is this really a common question, i.e. related to Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw and Base as a whole? Do you target a specific application? In this case, to help the community, replace your common tag by a specific one.
@LHGordon - in general not recommended, since this is direct formatting and using page styles instead is LibreOffices’s approach to well structured documents.

in general agree, and wouldn’t recommend using Format▸Character... or Format▸Paragraph... - but page styles are the only area in LibreOffice which is managed solely via styles, and there’s no direct formatting there at all. And to reduce confusion, the Format▸Page has been renamed to Format▸Page Style... in 6.4 (tdf#126608).
