When i try and print a document I click on File then print it brings up the print details but then it just brings up save as instead of print. Does anybody have any idea why this could be happening?

Most likely: Your printout targets a “virtual printer” which creates files of the “print output”, to be opened by other applications. The most common I see are pdf- and xps-print drivers.
Solution: Select a printer device in the print dialog, instead of a virtual printer. Depending on system settings you may need to click on an icon labeled “PDF/XPS somethingsomething”, scroll a list box horizontally or vertically, or click a button to select a different print target.
Possible: Your installed printer (which is only “printer feeder” software on your computer) is set to store the feed in a file instead of sending it directly to a physical print device. I rarely see this in use nowadays, but it may be required if the printer is on a different location/network, or it is out of order/undergoing service.
I think it is to do with the out put, but im not a tech person so don’t really understand why its happening or how to rectify it. The correct printer comes up when i select print, but goes to Save as.
I tried uninstalling and re installing but still not working.

Can you take a picture of the print dialog with your printer selected, and one of the “save as” dialog?
