Please add information about your system and LibreOffice version, copying from Menu/Help/About. BTW detail what you understand for poor font display o even better add a screenshot showing the issue. Is your windows 8 updated?
If set, try to disable OpenGL in
Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> View -> Category: Graphics Output -> Option: Use OpenGL for all rendering
and check whether that fixes your problem (and note the comment of @m.a.riosv )
