Calc: How do I show gridlines in a spreadsheet if there is no option in tools

In the answers to "how do I show gridlines on a spreadsheet, it says to go to Tools, the options, however, when I click on Tools, there is no “option” selection.

… when I click on Tools, there is no “option” selection.

Then you are using a Mac.

For the Mac version of LibreOffice, the general settings dialog, Options, has been moved to the application menu (just after the Apple menu ; menu name Calc in this case) and renamed Preferences in keep with the established standards for Mac software, so as not to disturb the average Mac user (I think that must have been the general reasoning  ).

So Calc - Preferences it is.

Hit ALT + F12 - don’t you get any Options panel?

If yes, proceed to LibreOfficeCalc | View | Visual Aids :: Grid Lines :: Show

I have followed the procedure above, however, all this does is show the gridlines on the spreadsheet. The problem I’m having is I can’t get the gridlines to show up when I print the spreadsheet. I am at a loss as to how to do this.
