Hello:

I can't insert an SVG image in a Writer document properly. The image in question is the following: link text

The original image has shadows in the background. But when I insert the image, the shadows don't appear:

image description

The shadows appear when viewing it with any image viewer. And the markup of the document is valid according to the W3C's validator. Why aren't the shadows shown when inserting it in a text document?

Thanks in advance.

I sometimes have to manage and "edit" SVG images from Wikipedia. Shadows are a problem or not to find in LO. If you don't intend any alteration I would try to import it via GIMP as a PNG file. Define as resolution for import ca. 300 dpi and there will not be a pixelation when printed. Also possible: Import in Inkscape and export as a PNG file.

The problem would be worth to be reported as a bug (if not already done by now).
