in Linux Mint 18 Sarah Mate OS, on 64 bit HPLaptop. When I re-open Libre I find a list of unrecovered files that I have already saved, sometimes dozens of times while writing the text. Today I lost some very important files while attempting to recover them. How do I recover the odt. files I lost, and how do I avoid this happening? Or is this just how it is?

Hello, some hints to enable others to help you:

  • try to ask a good question
  • provide more details / information (there is almost nothing in your question, that could help)
  • try to use a translation tool since it is really hard to understand your post (I’d guess, you’re not a native english speaker [I’m and others are not too])
  • you write about a lot of strange things happening on your system - this is all quite not normal and also in parts not subject of LibreOffice - even more it’s necessary, that you take essential care on details and how you operate

Your discomfort is understandable. Part of the answer to your question probably depends on what you do exactly when you are finished working on a document. For example, after saving the document do you close the document before closing Writer?

I believe it occurs whether closed or not. I’ll experiment & see. Thank you for your input.

What platform? Windows 7, WIndows 10, Linux (name the Distro), or Mac?

Where did you get Libre Office from?

What version is it?

Is there anything else that may help someone answer this question?

Cheers,

Cliff
