Invoice printing freezes the new printer

I have been using LibreOffice for many years. My most valuable part is the Invoice template. Recently I purchased a new printer - the same brand as I had previously - Brother. But now I can no longer print the invoices as they freeze the printer. How can I fix this? Everything else in LibreOffice (spreadsheet) prints.

I would suspect that the printer may be of the same “brand” but of a different type needing a different driver. If the driver is correctly installed using your Operating System’s means, you may need to make it the ‘Default’ printer. Most likely LibO will use it then. If not, try the path >File>Printer Settings... and select the correct driver there (wrongly under ‘Printer’ > ‘Name:’).
BTW. The tag ‘math’ you used is inappropriate for this question. It refers to the ‘Math’ component of LibO used for editing and rendering formulas. You might have used ‘common’.

Thank you. I will do as you suggested. I used “math” because it wouldn’t let me post until I put “something” in the spot - I had no idea what any of that meant. Sorry. The printer is brand-new, so I suspect the driver id correctly installed, since everything else except the invoice, prints with no problem. Thanks again, hopefully, your advice will fix it.

The new printer is already the “default” printer. I can’t find anything in that area about drivers. Unfortunately, it will still not print.

…and you already looked into the Printer Settings... ?
I have no idea then.
…except probably to try it with a new user profile. See here - and be careful.

What model of printer? What operating system and LO version? Can you give give the web page with the Invoice extension? I have a Brother printer and have no issues with it but am happy to try and see if I can break my printing too, once I have completed a large print run.

Please edit your question to add the information at the end. Cheers, Al

Hi. It seems to be some Windows Update problems with fixes of fixes coming through. I can’t test your invoice because my printer has stopped working as it should following a Windows update yesterday. I’m printing from Linux until Microsoft sorts these problems out. As a taster see BleepingComputer or Windows-update-issue but I think it might have been the fix that broke my printing.
