PDF in page width

How do I set LibreOffice to open each PDF in page width? Right now, it is set for full page but that’s too small for me.

Do you intend to only read the PDF or to edit it?

In the first case use a PDF viewer. In the second case, maximise the window and, if not sufficient, zoom the view.

Well, can you set all PDF files to automatically open in page width?

Then your issue is not a LO one. You seem to request some initial state for your PDF viewer. On first thought, this is alien to LO. You didn’t mention your OS. I guess under Linux you can design a command line to force an adequate window size (for the desktop/window manager) and eventually add an option (for the PDF viewer) to request a display mode. This command line is then made into a “desktop” icon+command you just double-click to get the desired effect. It is likely the same behaviour can be achieved under other OSes (MacOS for sure, Window$ perhaps but I have no idea).

Well then, why does it default in “page view?” Why can’t it default to “page width view?”

Because Draw is a drawing program; it opens to show the entire drawing, as you would expect for a drawing.

Draw can open pdfs, but that does not mean it is a pdf reader or a pdf editor. There are several dedicated tools for either function. Adobe Reader allows you set the default page zoom in Preferences.

Shortcut keys might help, see Shortcut Keys for Drawings

I probably didn’t understand the question. I thought you generated a PDF from some LO document and this PDF was sent by LO to a PDF reader. Apparently you do it the other way round: as @EarnestAl hints, you use LO as a PDF reader, which was never intended.

Please, when asking here, avoid one-liners and make your question more explicit. We can’t penetrate your head to read what is not said.

OK, got it. Well, it’s just a couple of clicks to get it on width view…

Ctrl+mouse scroll also works to zoom
