Slide transitions not transitioning ver. 6.0.7.3

Question: Slide transitions not transitioning ver. 6.0.7.3

Can’t get slide transitions to TRANSITION. No preview either. Just black to next slide. Any Suggestions?
Steps:

1. LibreOffice Impress
2. Create slides
3. Click on any slide
4. Click from top menu, Slide, Slide Transition
5. Choose any effect (none work)
6. Click “automatic preview” (or not - neither works)
7. Choose “on mouse click, 1 second”, apply to all slides…
8. Results: a) no automatic preview; b) press “Play” = screen goes black for 1 second, next slide pops up, no transition
9. Using to run slide show full screen, space bar to trigger next slide = black for 1 second, next slide appears with no transition effect.

Any suggestions?

Be aware that on many computer systems only the transitions from NONE to DIAGONAL really work (Linux, Windows). I guess (!) that this depends on in-built graphics (or graphics adapter) in general. My experiences are based on some versions of LO 6.2.x and 6.3.x on Linux and Windows. I would not use LO version 6.0.x any more.
