Opening LO begins recovery every time

Each time I open LO recovery starts and finishes successfully. After working on my base file a few minutes, responsiveness slows to a crawl, not responding to mouse clicks for 15+ seconds. Other open programs aren’t doing this so I don’t think it’s a memory problem. The base file has a main table having a couple thousand records each having a couple dozen fields. The db also has a 7 tiny tables used as combo box lists for some of 21 forms, based on some of 31 queries. Is that so much as to cause the slowdown?

It would be nice if you let us know which LibreOffice version and which operating system you are working with.

You have base in connection with what? HSQLDB, Firebird, others?

I’m using Version: 6.3.4.2 (x64) on 64 bit Windows 10 Home. HSQLB embedded.
At last try LO didn’t slow down until I opened Firefox.
But I’m still greeted with the document recovery process each time I open LibreOffice. Since the recovery has always worked so far I guess I can live with the minor inconvenience.

Hello,

if your recovery process starts every time you open a file, there is most probably a problem in your user profile (i.e. in file registrymodificatons.xcu, where recovery information is stored. The file doesn’t get updated even if the recovery was successful). You need to reset your user profile using the following procedure.

  • Start LibreOffice
  • Start in Safe Mode using Help -> Restart in Safe Mode and confirm the restart using button: Restart
  • Archive your profile expanding Advanced (click on the word Advanced right above Help button) and click Archive User Profile button
  • Select option Reset to factory settings
  • Activate [x] Reset entire user profile
  • Click button Apply Changes and Restart

Hope that helps.

That did the trick. Thank you.

Thanks. That worked for me too.
