Libreoffice freezes opening or creating text document

6.3.5.2 Mac OS X 10.13.6, installed today

When I create a new Text document, or attempt opening an existing .docx or .odt file, the application freezes. i must use MacOS “Force Quit” to close the application.

However I can open and use an .xlsx Calc document.

I saw the same behaviour with the previous version, i do not recall which. I had a serious failure some weeks ago in LO that preceded this freeze behaviour. Could there be a corrupt file in my system?

try delete your user profile

~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user

thank you kompilainenn, works fine now. lost “recent files” and a spreadsheet database connection but those apparently are easily rebuilt
