How do I export footnotes into a PDF file?

I have an .odt file with some footnotes. Is there any way I can export these footnotes once I convert the file into PDF?

Thanks

Don’t understand: How do you export footnotes from Writer?

If you are planing to have some editing done after export to PDF, then I suggest to export content of document into PDF file itself. This can be done using File | “Export as PDF” and on the General tab check the “Embed OpenDocument file” checkbox.

This action will export file to PDF and also export whole ODF document inside PDF document as comments. So PDF readers will not display this commends, but if you open a document with Writer again it will open this commented part of PDF file as ODF file. Just test the PDF file size - it will become bigger because of double document embed into single PDF file.

Thanks! This is not exactly what I need, I don’t want to edit the PDF file once created, I just need to have the footnotes links working in the final exported file.

If I understand correctly you added footnote and beside word there appears number e.g. 1. Clicking on number 1 and LibreOffice moves the page to the footnote. If you export file to PDF, then this functionality (move down to the footnote if clicking on number) is preserved. I tested this on LibreOffice 4.0.5 on Windows XP. This is probably PDF viewer functionality, I am currently using PDF XCHANGE VIEWER for viewing a PDF files. Don’t know if other PDF viewer also have this functionality. What is the version of LibreOffice you are using and what is your PDF viewer? Operating system version?
