Errors in Windows 10 when using "open with..." option

Hi all.

Just trying out this program, new to it, so far it looks & works really good, thank you for letting me escape the grasp of Adobes shackles.

When I run LibreOffice (latest version 64-bit Windows 10) & I open files by first running LibreOffice then browsing to & Open pdf files, it works no problem.

However if I right click that same .pdf file & “Open With…” & choose LibreOffice (soffice.exe), it gives 3 Error messages in a row then closes LibreOffice. They are :

D:\Modular does not exist.

C:\Windows\system32\Synthesis\MATHS does not exist.

C:\Windows\system32\manual.pdf does not exist.

The file path on my PC is “D:\Modular Synthesis” & the actual file name is “MATHS manual.pdf” but this happens to any .pdf file I try opening with the “Open With…” option. But like I mentioned before, these same files work fine if I first run LibreOffice & then import/open them from the File menu.

Can you please help me?? I’d really like the right-click “Open With…” option to also work.

Also is there a way to completely disable the Recent Files that show when running LibreOffice rather than manually clearing the list??

Thanks for your time,
Ash.

Please open a new Question. Thank you.

Sorry Opaque, I think I fixed it.

Have a look at:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/DE/Datei_oeffnen_mit_LibreOffice#Foreword

Usually a PDF should be opened in Draw.
Search in the directory:

C:/Program Files/LibreOffice/program/

for the file “sdraw.exe” and select it.

I wish you success!

==========================================

The file names LibreOffice and there Moduls are:

  • LibreOffice = soffice.exe
  • Writer = swriter.exe
  • Calc = scalc.exe
  • Impress = simpress.exe
  • Draw = sdraw.exe
  • Math = smath.exe
  • Base = sbase.exe
