New install resulted in 3.48 gigabytes - Need help please

Today, I installed LibreOffice 4.1.2 in English on my Mac OS X (so I already have the office suite). I do not believe I should have ALSO installed the package for LO 4.1.2_English_NA_DVD_All Platforms_multi-language plus_extras.iso)!! I thought this ‘just named’ package was the language pack … but now realize I obviously made a mistake. The resulting file from my incorrect download is 3.48 gigabytes! My laptop memory is 4 gigabytes. First, I couldn’t understand why it took probably two hours to download, and now I can see the size of this file when I click on the icon on my desktop called LO NA-DVD 4.1.2 (or by looking further into the downloaded file folder), then within that there are lots of things … such as add on templates, add on dictionary, add-on clipart, but then the largest size files are found under the LibreOffice Install File folders. Here there are folders for EVERY PLATFORM (Linux Deb, Linux RPM, Windows, and Portable…and MAC OS X). When I look under the MAC folder here (within the same large file), there are also files for every language. Would someone be able to help me? Please note the total size of my LibreOffice ‘Folder’ which is in the "Applications’, is probably correct and is 607.5 megabytes (different folder than the one in question). HOWEVER, when I open LibreOffice, I don’t see any templates for documents or spreadsheets … but only for presentations. The problem again is lying in my ‘Download’ folder. Would just deleting ALL the folders under the LO-NA-DVD 4.1.2 to include platform files, add ons and everything else in that downloaded file still let my original main install for just the program itself work? I believe I checked the program before downloading that All Platform package and the LibreOffice worked fine (except that I didn’t see extra templates then either). But I am thinking that I could download additional templates, clip-art and other things needed individually. I really would appreciate any help that could be given. Just bought this (my first Apple product and also my first laptop) a couple weeks ago and hopefully have learned enough so far to fix the problem encountered here with anyone’s help without too much difficulty. Thanks again …Deb

**Let me revise my original question here above because it is too lengthy, plus I think I am realizing that I could just probably remove that particular download of the very large file without any problems occurring …but still asking for assistance. The bottom line question I have is … for an everyday user of LibreOffice, was I just supposed to download the one main download for LibreOffice to work correctly? And … was I NOT supposed to download the Package for all platforms and languages, which is an additional download further down on the download page.

You answered your own question. Yes the everyday user needs only the top installer for his/her platform (about 200MB) and the help file (second box below, about 5MB).

Hello Horst. Thank you! I will now remove that downloaded portion. Just went to the website and didn’t see the help download. In the upper portion of the screen, I only saw the main installer download. There was not another file to download that right underneath. I’ll go back and look again. Thanks again for your help.
