How to set Libreoffice memory options without GUI

Hi,

Hi, I am running libreoffice 4.1.1 on a VM and have no GUI.
I only start it in headless mode and do come document conversions.

I see that the conversions are little slow and from this blog post i got the idea that changind memory options could help speeding the things up - http://itsfoss.com/speed-libre-office-simple-trick/

How can i set the memory options without GUI ? Any idea would be of great help.

Thanks,

Have you found a solution, mate? I’m in your situation too, please share if you found the way!

Would recommend updating LO, 4.1.1 is old.

Hi Uday, there must be a way, but only a dev will be able to tell you where the appropriate parameter is located.
Try that route and report here.
BTW, the “trick” is pretty lame.

Hi

Memory options can be changed in the registrymodifications.xcu file described here. For example you can set TotalCacheSize proprety to 210000000 (same as 200 MB in the UI)

Regards

@pierre-yves_samyn: Can you be more specific as to the exact location in that referenced document ?
How does this apply or translate to a non-win environment ?

ok so that’s ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcu
and TotalCacheSize is on line 499.
Thanks @pierre-yves_samyn

@Cbhihe Yes it is in the profile fodler, but be warned the line number may be different depending on other customizations.

Perhaps preparing a profile out of the VM and copying the registrymodifications.xcu to it.
