Recently I have encountered a general input/output error when trying to open up certain word files. The last time this happened, I tried opening the file in Open Office, and guess what, it opened without the error. I get an error when trying to open the file in Libre Office, but the file does open in Open Office. I tried to upload one of the problem files with this comment, but the message board only takes image files.
Could you please indicate which versions of OO and LIbO your are using and what your OS is?
What happens if you save the file in doc format in OO, open it in LibO, and save it again in odt?
