When I enter the formula in the spread sheet it is not coming up with the answer. Just shows the formula and the cell Number at the end of it in black

Having a similar issue, extremely baffling. I utilized an AVERAGEIF work, whose worth shows up effectively in the formula viewer, yet not in the sheet. Would you be able to recommend something?

two common issues related to your problem description:
1) Cell format
If you format you cells prior to adding a formula as text (Formcat Code @) then you don’t enter a formula but text. Everything entered in a text formatted cell, will be interpreted as text (one of the rare cases were format determines interpretation of input or - to be more precide - disables input interpretation and hence = is no longer recognized as the begin of a formula but being pure text).
Resolution Remove the text formatting of your cell and enter you formula afterwards.
1) Viewing Option
You may have activated option View -> [x] Show Formula.
Resolution: Deactivate option View -> [ ] Show Formula.
