How do I export all slides as images in Impress

I’m very new to LibreOffice (although not new to other, similar tools). In PowerPoint, gasp, I can save an entire presentation as a series of images (either png or jpg). In Impress, it appears to be one image at a time in the default mode.

Is there something I am missing?

Goal: Create a series of individual images from a presentation and export all slides at the same time for use as social media posts.

Note: I did find the Save All Images Extension (http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/export-as-images) and it does work with no issues or glitches. My concern is that it says it hasn’t been updated. Since I’ll be teaching others how to use LibreOffice Impress once I get a handle on it, I don’t want to scare the weebers out of them. I figured the worst that could happen was that I needed to reinstall LibreOffice. Would PREFER that newbies not have to do that.

Apart from the extension linked to there is no elegant method of doing this, however there is a workaround that may suffice: Export to HTML.

1. File > Export… > select the File Type of “HTML Document (Impress)”; click Save.
2. This will start the HTML Export wizard. Click through the default settings on most of the dialogs, with the exception of the third, which offers a choice of graphics format (PNG, GIF, JPG) and resolution (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768). Click Create once you get to the end, or at any time.
3. The chosen settings can be saved as a Design for future use.

The result will be a series of imgN.html and corresponding imgN.png (if PNG was selected) files, one per slide. The HTML files can be deleted if not required.

Thanks so much for confirming that I’m not missing something. I do appreciate that. The thing I found when I did a test of the HTML is that it didn’t save the text that was overlayed onto the slide, just the image itself. Is there another setting that would save the text and the image?

What file format (ODP, PPT, PPTX) is the presentation in? What format are the inserted graphics in? Export to HTML of ODP appears to creates an image of the entire slide here, regardless of what content the slide includes, although I have not tested this with every possible graphics format.

It is an ODP file and I exported the images in jpg. I’ll give it another test to see if I missed something …that’s always possible! I’ll use a 1 slide presentation so I don’t miss anything! Thanks for the response oweng!

Well that worked…have no idea what I did wrong before, so thank you! I don’t remember the exact steps I did and remember something about a zip file. Hum…maybe it was some instruction that said to change the extension of the presentation from odp to zip and there was automatically a folder. I prefer this way even if I delete the .htm files. I may have no issue with changing extensions and I think newbie users will! Again. My thanks for your help!
