Short cut failed

My short cut is no longer working. I have followed the prompts to have it fixed but that has not worked.

Broncoeh,

Can you add more details of the problem? When the shorcut stop working (you changed something, a new installation, etc.)? Operating system and version of LibreOffice and you are using?

I am using LibreOffice 6.0

The first message says: Windows is searching for soffice.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse.

I tried browsing but could not find it. The next message says:

The item ‘soffice.exe’ that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Nearest match based on size, date, and type: c:\ProgramFiles\LibreOffice\program_old\soffice.exe Do you want to fix this shortcut to point to the target or do you just want to delete it?

I chose fix it but that doesn’t do anything.

To the best of my knowledge I didn’t change the shortcut. I did download a version of Gary Utilities recently.

Do you mean a desktop shortcut? Oh that’s not a problem! Does the shortcut in the Main menu work? In this case, just click the shortcut on the desktop and agree with Windows that you need to remove it. After that, go to the Main menu, find the office shortcut, right-click on it and select Send To - Desktop (create shortcut). Do this after each reinstallation (upgrade) of the office. This does not happen so often, a lot of work is not required.

Please don’t use an answer edit your question.

program_old is not a part of correctly installed LibreOffice. So your shortcut reveals some interesting manual manipulations with the installation happened in the past … anyway, just reinstall LibreOffice (and while at that, upgrade to a less ancient version like 6.4 )
