Format changes with global font change.

When I changed fonts size and style it did this, hoping the picture will explain what I can’t.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Ken_Shea,

See the horizontal ruler. Of the three marks near 1/2, drag the lower right mark to the right, until 5.
You can see LibreOffice Help in Setting Indents, Margins, and Columns.

Can you explain how do you changed the global font? Maybe another screenshot could help us. Do not post an answer, but edit your question.

Can you explain how do you changed the global font? Selected all > style > size
I suspected it had something to do with the ruler which is not understood, I’ll check the links out, maybe they will help.

Thanks much

Should have said Font Name not style.

Ken_Shea,

Its seem to me that could be some unintentional click and drag over the ruler.

Could definitely be LeroyG but am trying to be intentional as changes are made to keep tabs on what does what, still pretty much lost.

Putting the little pointer to the 5 mark works some of the times and combines all the vertical text normally with no other input, other times it simply moves all the vertical text to the right and it remains vertical.
Another thing I’ve noticed is in some areas of text the cursor line is one normal single line high, other places two high and yet others three cursor lengths high.

Dangit, my comment dissappeared, Well, there it is !

Ken_Shea,

The tree marks you now see on the ruler are for indents. If you move the lower left mark, you change the left indent. You could not drag it to the right of the lower right mark (right indent), it will push the right mark.

If you need to add tabs, click on the ruler.
Here are Help in Inserting and Editing Tab Stops.

Thanks, I’ll do some reading on this and see what I can learn.

Ken_Shea,

May be the confusion with the indent values is that left indent count from the left border, and right margin count from the right border (not from the left margin). So, if you want to indent at 4 ½ inches of the ruler, right indent must be of 1 inch.

The grayish parts of the ruler show the margins.

With the help here am getting a grip on these, actually the document is satisfactorally (my satisfaction at least) formated at this point. Thanks again.
