[Youtube] Calc - Why header move backgroud down? And other errors related background

It seems to me that it is a serious mistake.

Today I wanted to do a sheet that has a background with my logo.

  1. I did in a graphics program A4 page with the logo and information in the footer.
  2. I wrote in PNG.
  3. I opened Calc | Format | Page | Page and set the margins
  4. I opened Calc | Format | Page | Background and place the PNG file
  5. At this point everything is still OK
  6. After inserting the data into the spreadsheet (several pages), the text began to overlap the upper part of the background of the logo. To correct this I picked header and set the height to 3cm (so has my logo).
  7. And here is the problem. Header moved not only the content of the sheet relative to the page but has an additional margin and moved down the background. I think that’s a big mistake to be corrected.

The position of the background should only set margins and nothing more. All further elements like Header, Content, Footer should be above background (like layer).

Does anyone agree with me that it should go to the patch?

The example in this video http://youtu.be/zJQ-bLooAas

Movie description:

  1. Prepared background - take into account the margins in Calc
  2. I set the margins in line with the prepared background
  3. I set the background from an image file. Preview background is deformed.
  4. I enter text in one cell.
  5. The thumbnail in the settings, the background is on the whole page. Unfortunately, the print preview background narrows to only one area of the cell.
  6. The thumbnail table aligment, it looks fine. Unfortunately, the print preview centers the table and background.
  7. When you change the scaling factor, changing the size of the background. After all, this is a background page, not the table.
  8. At the end of the worst. When you turn on header and set the amount of background presses the down. Header acts as an additional margin.

How do I fix this? Resolve to set the background into two parts.

  1. Page background - depends only on the margins of the page. All other elements are deposited as layers in advance.
  2. Background of the table (if anyone needs) - displays only the fixed area and table display is dependent on the header, footer, and page margins.

Only this will allow for the preparation of pretty print or PDF format. I hope that not only I need this functionality

Yes, I know I can insert a small graphic separately to the header and footer. The problem is that these illustrations are scaled as set scaling factor. Background page, it should be independent of the scaling factor.

Than you for your answer

Unfortunately, the problem is that images inserted as a background in the Header, Footer and Backgroudn are scaled. If you increase or decrease in “scaling factor” images change its size.

The idea is to be able to prepare a background page (letterhead) and its post any content at any scale - just like in life and business. One letterhead template - in Calc. Simple, fast and effective.

Hi skibbbi,
If the image only in the footer, you can add an image background to it.
Editing the page style in the Footer tab, click on the More box, where you can select an image for footer background.
