Cannot save changes in calc in windows 8

Recently noticed that changes in my calc spreadsheet are not being saved. It is stuck on Oct. 25, 2013 and cannot add more dates and columns.

I have updated to ver. 4.1.2.3, supposedly the latest, having done so thinking that maybe it would help, but no, unfortunately. I cleared formatting of blank cells, checked that the sheet was not protected and still nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail, so I am running out of ideas.

Any ideas? Thnx in advance for any help.

Please Papang, what is the issue?, You can’t save the file after modifications or when you enter something in a cell it remains blank?

Yes, correct mariosv. I even lost a day of input along with the data (threw out the receipts), because I thought it was saving as usual.

As this spreadsheet is vital for keeping my budget controlled, I was forced to again use MS Office XP and when I opened my sheet, I saw the problem–the last column was “IV” (the one dated 25/Oct/13) which in Office XP is the last column. Anything then that I was entering after that date/column was in effect lost and unsavable. LibreOffice of course shows many more columns (ZZ and beyond) but since it is in a compatiblity mode with Office XP, 97, 2000 and some others (don’t remember all) for access on other computers, it did not warn me about entering data beyond the range of the sheet and thus I was saving non-existant data that could/would not be seen in Office nor accepted by Libreoffice because of the compatibility mode.

In a way, the problem was solved, but it would be nice that Libreoffice warned the users about this somehow. When I feel sure of using Libreoffice again, I pass the data to it but it was quite hairy trying to troubleshoot this little problem and I lost several days trying to figure it out.

Thanks for your response.
