turn off predictive text in calc

why is it not possible to enable/disable as it is in writer?: Is there a way to turn off predictive text feature?

it is quite annoying and error-prone when calc insists on adding a spurious suffix to my entry based on what i have written previously

edit: it is a very simple matter to turn this off in ms excel, and i am forced to use the ms product

why is it not possible to enable/disable as it is in writer?

Because it is possible using a different command: Tools>AutoInput.

I always LOL seeing people start writing false statements and asking why are they true. Instead of “Why is it not possible”, wouldn’t it make more sense to ask “How to do that”?

god bless you! i’d accept the answer but not sure how

edit: the reason i phrased it that way is because i asked a very similar Q years ago and it has never been properly addressed (see here: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124774) also because the solution for writer doesnt correspond also because it cannot be done in onlyoffice also because … well earned cynicism etc

tdf#124774 is about Writer, its quick find - so absolutely unrelated, and was filed one year ago…

not sure what youre referring to, you seem confused.

I only clicked the link you provided. It is titled “Option to turn off autocomplete text in quick find”, and its component is “Writer”. It’s filed at 2019-04-16 16:07 UTC by “pbwn”. No idea how am I confused.

the middle name of Mike - which he doesn’t like to post on the forums - is ‘Chuck’, ‘Chuck doesn’t eat honey, he chews bees …’

pls. turn it off using ‘Tools>AutoInput’, test that that works and close this question as answered …
