MacOS 10.5, Update Problem, Error reading data from the Internet

I’m using the latest version of LibreOffice for MacOS and I cannot get the live/Internet based update to work (see attached screenshot); here is the specific version information for LibreOffice:

Version: 6.4.4.2
Build ID: 3d775be2011f3886db32dfd395a6a6d1ca2630ff
CPU threads: 16; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.5; UI render: default; VCL: osx;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

This does not happen with, for example, OpenOffice (which I stopped using), or other applications that update. I do have a privacy firewall that blocks certain pernicious activities, but I can’t imagine that would apply to LibreOffice. I disabled my filtering firewall, and it still happened.

It’s not clear to me where the problem is otherwise.

What’s your setting in LibreOffice -> Preferences -> Internet -> Proxy -> Drop down: Proxy server:? (and if it is set to System, what’s the proxy server of your system?)

Hi there, thank you for responding. I checked this and it said “System” (which I never tuned it for). I changed it to “None” and it seems to be working now.

Thank you.
