LibreOffice causing (requiring) periodic Mac reboot

When I consistently use LO (either writer or Impress modules or both) for a period of time usually about 2 (two) hours. LibreOffice slows significantly and becomes unstable and often times hangs. I am usually (not always) able when it hangs to force quit the application. My Mac then becomes unstable as well. After I force quit LO, I have to reboot my machine because it is now unstable. I understand that some might think that it is the Mac that is unstable but this behavior only occurs with LO, not with MS Office, Apple’s office apps, Capture One Pro, nor with the Affinity apps… Thoughts are appreciated. I am presently back using MS Office because I have work that has to get done. I would like to ditch MS entirely, but I cannot at the moment. There are also extreme slow down issues with impress as well…

You have a fairly high-spec system, so LO even slowing down noticeably is something out of the ordinary.

Have you tried the previous version (6.3.6, recommended for business use)? There may be some issue caused by LO interacting with other parts of your system, which is not present in that version.

LO is made to behave the same, and use the same source code to the largest extent possible, independently of system platform. This may cause it to interact with system features in a different manner compared to other software.

Are there system updates pending? That will sometimes cause erratic behavior.

Do you have any plugins installed in LO, or user interface modifications in MacOS (clipboard manager, hotkey programming)?

I haven’t tried 6.3.6 that was my next avenue to try… No plugins and a very clean MacOS install, I try to stay away from the helper apps as they can have unintended consequences…
