What is this file namely LibreOffice_6.2.8.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz.asc used for in installing old version of LibreOffice for Fedora Workstation Linux ?

…and, technically, it is not used for installation, but may be used to verify the downloaded archive.

If you install with the distro-standard utility, namely dnf (TUI/CLI) or dnfdragora (GUI), this is handled transparently. Always prefer the distribution recommended way of installing software, even if this lags a bit behind the official LO site.
