Nothing works!

Every document I have created refuses to open. Libre Office refuses to open. I have apparently lost every thing I have written for the past few years. What was done to LibreOffice to render all of the things done in it unusable?

Apparently I can open the files with Microsoft Office products but nothing from LibreOffice works. The program itself does not work. No part of Libre Office works, not one aspect of it can be opened.

Things done:

  1. Downloaded and repaired program; to no avail.
  2. Uninstalled, restarted computer, again downloaded and reinstalled the program; to no avail.
  3. Uninstalled again, restarted computer, went to LibreOffice 6.2.2.2, reinstalled; appears to work.

Answering Questions:

  1. How long ago did you discover this problem occurred?
I discovered it today, approximately an hour ago? when I went to get a document from my ConLanging files. (I am in the process of creating 15 fictional languages for writing fantasy fiction in my own fantasy world.)

  2. Was there an emergency shutdown of the computer before that (self-reboot, power outage)?
To my knowledge there was no self-reboot, power-outage, etc. today. There was a Microshaft update at the end of last week that went into effect with a reboot over the weekend. Every time my computer is restarted or started, Microsoft Word from suite 2007 opens multiple copies on my screen. Microshaft does not care.

  3. What OS are you using?
    I am using Windows 10.

  4. Which version of LibreOffice?
I was using the last update I was instructed by the program to do. Which had not presented any problems before today. As I had translated some things at the end of last week, which I posted on Thursday or Friday. So these files were working then. The About states the current version I just reinstalled a moment ago is:
    Version: 6.2.2.2 (x64)
    Build ID: 2b840030fec2aae0fd2658d8d4f9548af4e3518d
    CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
    Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
    Calc: threaded

So, am I in need of an update? Do I dare update? Is there a crossed-wire with something in Windows 10?

First of all, you did not loose “every thing (you) have written for the past few years”; at the moment, you simply can’t get access to it.

Secondly, please answer the questions posed above by @JohnSUN. The information he requests is very important, especially the last two. Expert users here need this information in order to help you.

Thirdly, please provide this information by editing your original question above. Do NOT write an “Answer” below.

Thanks for the information provided, the search for the causes of the accident has narrowed significantly. Please, inform additionally: do you use any antivirus? If so, which one? Has anyone other than you recently used your computer? How did you try to launch individual office components when you saw that they did not work: launched from the Main Menu, from the Panel, by clicking on a file in the Explorer? Can you use the Task Manager? If yes, have you seen several hung Soffice processes in the list of active processes?

Seems your LibreOffice installation is broken somehow if not even LibreOffice opens. Reinstall, or maybe better, uninstall and then install fresh. Sometimes it also helps to start over with a fresh profile, see the wiki’s UserProfile page.

Or, is it just Windows 10 doing its usual thing with non-Microsoft products? Too bad the OP didn’t follow up with more information for us.
