How to delete a box which appeared when I tried to insert caption in a photo?

It is SOOO annoying why it is so hard to delete that box. Talk about user-friendly software.

Anyway, it would be a great help to help me delete the empty box/rectangle where there is no photo anymore.

Now I am scared to use a caption.

I wonder why just by inserting a caption makes a photo unmovable! Why! It doesn’t make any sense.

Version: 6.4.4.2
Build ID: 1:6.4.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: ne-NP (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Not at all - that’s the frame containing the caption and if you want to move the image incl. the caption, take care to select the frame and not the image itself.

Thank u @anon73440385
Now I can move The Photo with Caption. For real this time.

Clicking inside the frame activates it so your workspace is inside the frame. To select the frame itself, you must click excactly on the border line of the frame so it shows the “handles”. It is now selected so you can delete it.

Sometimes it can be difficult to hit the border. You can also delete it by using the navigator.

  • Activate the navigator
  • Use the compass icon in the right side panel
    or
  • Menu item View - Navigator
    or
  • Function key F5
  • Expand the Frames branch
  • Find the picture frame entry in the list and delete it.

Note that as long as you have not applied a border, the border lines you see are just visual clues to show the space occupied by the frame. They will not appear on PDF exports or printouts.

Thanks so much. I was sure at that moment, I pressed the delete button like a thousand times but it didn’t delete the bus. But now, when I touch the line, I can easily delete the damn box.

I feel so dumb. Thank u.
