I am working with a group where each of us is separately reviewing documents. Track Changes is the ideal Writer tool, except that reviewers need to be anonymous. How can I hide my identity altogether or use a pseudonym?
Remove information from Options|User Data.
You can remove/change the user info from Tools - options. The user identification entered there will be attached to subsequently recorded changes. If there is nothing there, the change will be anonymous.
You can also have a separate app entry point for anonymous use by creating a separate profile folder for that. See the env command line option.
Note that “last changed by user” may be a filesystem property for the file, so to ensure anonymity on shared filesystems you may need additional precautions.
