want to type in bengali in libre office

availability of fonts is not a matter of LibreOffice but your operating system (which you did not mention). LibreOffice does only provide a few predefined fonts during installation and there is no repository of fonts operated by TDF (LibreOffice). Search the web for the fonts you need and use your operating systems method to install that font (On my system: double click on the font file calls the font installer). Restart LibreOffice and you should be able to use it ( provided you have set Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Languages -> [x] Complex text Layout and selected one of the 2 Bengali variants - i.e. Bengali (Bangladesh) or Bengali (India).
Please Note LibreOffice does not support Type 1 fonts.
