Language option doesn't show in Writer 6.4

When I updated to LO v.6.4.5 (latest stable version), my status bar does not show the language (or option to click and get a dropdown menu to change it). I reinstalled v.6.3.6, and it shows. Is this a known bug in 6.4, or have I missed something? I’ve looked at Preferences but don’t find any option to set.

No such problem with 6.4.5.2 on Windows 7. What is your operating system?

I’m not a Mac user, and I currently cannot test with 6.4.5.
But I tested with 6.4.4 (PortableApps) Writer on Windows 10, and the StatusBar showed the paragraph language and offered settings the same way as V7.0.0 does and other versions did.
I don’t know a way to change probably related settings using the standard UI, but the tool
>Advanced>Expert Configuration offers some probably related settings under org.openoffice.Office.UI.Controller
This may indicate that userprofile corruption probably can spoil the StatusBar.

Took the time to also test with V6.4.5 portable. Same result as with V6.4.4.

Thank you (the O.S. is Mac, v. 10.13.6). It seems likely given your answer and gabix comment that it is the user profile corruption, which seems a major pain to correct but so it is. Clearly it is not a bug.

Scripts, templates and the like are easily restored after a UP reset. The annoying thing is the “small casual settings” going to binary config files.
Therefore I wouild try to find a way along expert configuration first, probably.
