Sum negative numbers with decimal

LibreOffice 6.4.4.2 (Build ID: 1:6.4.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.1) on Pop_OS 20.04 LTS (Ubuntu based distro)

Hello, I’m trying to sum 2 negative numbers, example:

=-5-8

It works when they’re integer numbers.

But if I try to sum negative numbers with decimal places, example:

=-10-8,5

it gives me an Err:509

I also tried using a period instead of a comma, example:

=-10-8.5

but then it gives me:

NAME?

My country is Brazil, so we use commas as decimals separators and periods for thousand separator (it’s the opposite of united states), my Locale settings is like this:

Tried several LibreOffice versions (6.2.8.2, 6.3.6.2, 6.4.6.2, 7.0.0.3 on openSUSE 15.2 using TDF packages) and can’t reproduce your issue:

Which is your LibreOffice version and your operating system?

Oh sorry, I forgot this information, I’m on LibreOffice 6.4.4.2 (Build ID: 1:6.4.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.1) on Pop_OS 20.04 LTS (Ubuntu based distro)

Did you ever completely reinstall your LibreOffice version (There are many reports on very strange behavior of LibreOffice in initial installations on Ubuntu based systems)?

It doesn’t look like there is anything wrong with the formula. Did you try starting with a new Calc spreadsheet and then copying and pasting your example into the formula bar? Maybe there is a different character such as em dash instead of hyphen.

I also ride an Englis (in my case UK) interface though being a German in Germany (comma locale).
I tried a bit with V7.0.0.3(release) with German locale and Brazilian locale, too, and cannot confirm the issue.
What’s your version of LibO, what OS are you running?
User profile corruption?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I reinstalled LibreOffice and it started to work, probably some corrupted file/settings
